I was asked to write a song for my grandparents 50 year anniversary. I wrote and recorded this yesterday and today i was able to set it to some old photographs of my grandparents and family. This is my song of admiration towards a relationship that has stood the test of time when it seems no one can manage to stay together these’n days.
anniversary(50 Years) by adamroberthauG
my grandmother was born Crystal. well i suppose only a rose could be more beautiful.and then there’s old “what’s his name?” Robert. my middle name is the same as my grandfather’s first. when i was little i heard stories about their “better or for worse” the pleasure and the hurt. still i don’t know for sure. yeah, often times i’ve wondered just how they have endured, over 50 years together upon the planet Earth.
Anniversary. will you dance with me, for as long as our hearts beat?
now a days, people act so strange. one day they say they love you and the next they walk away. it’s easy to make a promise that you don’t intend to keep. it’s easy to be dishonest, to lie, pretend and cheat. and then there are old lovers who show us how it can be. they teach us the beauty of faith and integrity. yeah, often times i’ve wondered just how they have endured, over 50 years together upon the planet Earth.
Anniversary. will you dance with me, for as long as our hearts beat? Into eternity…
Anniversary, anniversary… it’s a dance for all our memories.
